Case Study – Visa Inc.
Visa Inc. operates the world’s largest retail electronic payments network and is one of the most recognised global financial services brands. It facilitates global commerce through the transfer of value and information among financial institutions, merchants, consumers, businesses and government entities.
The company offers a range of branded payment product platforms, which financial institution clients use to deliver credit, debit, prepaid and commercial programs to their customers. For example, a Visa Debit card is a globally-accepted product that allows a consumer to make an electronic payment for goods and services using funds from their bank account, rather than a line of credit, at the time of purchase.
Payment methods have evolved to accommodate changes in the global economy. More and more businesses offer online options and thus online banking fraud has increased in recent years.
To address online fraud, Visa requires information on the effectiveness of its online security system as well as customer sentiment to determine what could be done to maintain and/or improve Visa’s market share.
