Overview

A group of four students (same group as the assessment 2) will undertake a research on a specific title from the subject topics and prepare a report on the topic using peer reviewed articles from the Library e-journal database. 

The purpose of this task is to: 

Understand a statistical analysis method in-depth. 

Conduct a review of library resources on a key topic in Supply Chain Analysis, for example:

Develop a report critically analysing the topic of interest and the applicability of the method in business context, by demonstrating the applicability of the selected analytics technique to a relevant dataset.

The unit learning outcome(s) assessed is/are: 

LO1: Reconceptualise and synthesise knowledge of analytical and optimisation models with the, use of decision-support tools and techniques,;  

LO4: Work collaboratively in a team or/and individually to develop problem-solving capability working through a range of skills using analytical decision-support tools, and to reflect on their underlying applications in the business of logistics and supply chain management. 

This is a library research assignment for a group of four students (same group as the assessment 2). The group will undertake a research area with a specific title from within the subject topic list and prepare a report critically analysing the topic with the use of Library e-journal database. Use of peer reviewed articles is strongly recommended, unless interesting new detail has recently emerged.   

Use of a minimum of 10 references is mandatory.

EndNote software can be downloaded and installed via your student portal.

Peer reviewed articles can be downloaded from Library e-journal database. 

Instructions

The report should be developed along the following lines. 

Choose a title of research within this unit (good title will fetch good marks) 

Title should be around a supply chain analytics, its effect on supply chain and firm performance, tools and techniques used etc.

Define the concept of SC analytics and what does it mean to the business and supply chain in specific. 

Categorise the literature by year of publication, industry applications, methodology used (survey, content analysis etc.), business implications etc.  

Discuss industry applications and businesses benefits, using an example analysis. 

Conclusion and research limitations   

References (min 10 references) (APA or Harvard style using EndNote)  

Assessment Criteria

Choice of the tittle of research (appropriateness) 

Explanation of the concept.  

Critical reflection of the appropriateness of the concept in supply chain context, including a demonstration. 

Reasoning of the benefits of the key concept in supply chain management. 

Report structure and presentation
