LO1 Compare ways in which change impacts on an organisation’s strategy and operations

Change has an impact on organisation. You are required to compare different examples of organisations where change has impacted on the organisations’ strategy and operations. You should also assess the different drivers for change in each of the given examples and the types of organisational change they have affected.

Part 1 of LO1

Choose organisations, can be in the same or different industries

Discuss examples of changes that have occurred= can be technology, political, social, legal, economic ( PESTLE)

Discuss how the changes have affected strategies of the organisations (that is choices, decisions, in the long term, short term)

Discuss how the changes have affected the operations of the organisations (processes, procedures and how they work)

discuss the drivers for each of the changes (that is the causes) and what the results of these changes have been – impact of the changes

Compared the impacts of these changes on the strategy & operations of these 2 organisations.

You can use a table as seen below

LO2.

You should use the real-world examples of changes that have happened in the organisation. You can use those example from L01.

You should discuss whether these are internal/external drivers

For each factor how they have affected

Explain measures that can be used (discuss theories) to minimise negative impacts on the organisation.

For LO3 & LO4, you can use the same example of change that you wish to implement in your chosen organisation. In LO3, you are using force-field model but in LO4, you can choose another model, such as Kurt Letwin’s model to implement the change.

 

LO3

Give a brief discussion of the force field theory (the use, the components etc.) and reference

Give about 2-3 examples of real changes that are being introduced by the chosen organisation

Discuss the resisting forces (barriers) and also the driving forces for the change and give numbers from 1-5 depending on the strengths of the forces

Make sure that the resisting forces are stronger than the driving forces.

Now, discuss ways by which the company can reduce the resisting forces/barriers

Discuss how the organisation can achieve their objectives as the barriers are reduced and the change is implemented.

Discuss how this can be implemented

Discuss the intended change in the organisation

Discuss the drivers(reasons) for this change and discuss how this change will help the company

Discuss which model you intend to implement the change successful and how the model will help

Discuss how the change will be implemented using the model (e.g Letwin’s model)
