Dewey (1997) describes reflection as involving sub-processes of
reflection as:
‘(a) a state of perplexity, hesitation, doubts; and (b) an act of search
or investigation directed toward bringing to light further facts which
serve to corroborate or to nullify the suggested belief’ (p. 24).

‘(i) a felt difficulty; (ii) its location and definition; (iii)
suggestion of possible solution; (
iv) development by reasoning
of the bearings of the suggestions; (
v) further observation and
experiment leading to its acceptance or rejection’ (p. 98).
