 Guidelines for Assignment:


We need main assignment document, ppt(presentation) document and model/code file if any and a video with tutor containing explanation.



1.Structure of Paper:


  • Start with an introduction to provide a paragraph about the purpose of the paper and why it is important to BI/BA.
  • Include any information on the state of this topic and any evolution of progress within the last 5 – 10 years. This might include industry reports or white papers, publications in industry related journals, or consultant reports like those from Gartner, TDWI, etc. You should not use blogs or website verbiage. I have given you a list of helpful websites the first week of class that you should draw on first.
  • Include the major issues surrounding the use/implementation/management of the topic. This may include published examples of detriments when poorly used or ignored and examples of benefits when properly implemented.
  • Include major obstacles or impediments to the use/implementation/ management of the topic.
  • Include, if appropriate, any software that might facilitate the use/implementation/management of the topic. (This won’t apply to all topics.) In this section, you also need to include a list of the top vendors for the software.
  • Include anything else that you find useful in learning about this topic.
  • Provide a summary and conclusions section that summarizes your paper in a paragraph or two and provides your thoughts for the future of this topic in another paragraph or two.

2.Format of Paper:


  • The paper should be 10 – 12 pages (exclusive of cover page, reference list, and any figures or tables you might choose to use).
  • It must be double spaced with 1-inch margins all around.
  • I prefer Times New Roman 12-point font. If you use a different font, it should be about the same size.
  • There is 1 paper per team. There will be only 1 grade per paper, so each team member will receive the same grade for their team’s paper.
  • The paper must have a cover page with the topic and both team members listed. This page is not counted in the 10 – 12 pages in #1 above.
  • References
    • There is no set number of papers you must cite, but in a 10 – 12-page paper, I’d imagine you’ll cite at least 10.
  • I don’t have a specific style for formatting references in mind, but it should be consistent within your paper. It should also be one of the widely accepted styles such as APA or Chicago.

Research project citation guidelines:

There are many resources where you can find this information if you look.  I expect the research papers and presentations to be done correctly.  Here are a few points to follow and links to resources:

  • You need to cite the statement or assertion within the text.  This is done with footnotes or in-text citations.  This is required to make a direct connection to the statement/figure/table and the reference.  If you just list references in the back the reader has no idea to which statements those references connect.  The reader must be able to quickly access the reference and confirm the statement.
  • This is the same for figures/tables.  You need to label them and refer to them in the text (such as “Figure 1 is the strategic alignment framework (citation)

The prediction of crop yield mostly relies on soil, environment, metrology, fertilizer, and genotype. Since it depends on several factors, we need to analyze many datasets. As a food distributor who purchases from farmers and retails it to the public. As a team, we will address current problems and guide the company towards a data-driven approach. Major problems faced by food distributors are Poor weather predictions, Cost of packaging, Cost of Maintenance, Acquiring Cold Storage facilities, Fluctuations in the market price, Cost of Transportation and more. To predict precision agriculture many practical approaches are being used. Machine learning is a practical approach which determines the patterns based on descriptive or predictive analysis. Descriptive is used to collect the previous data and gains knowledge out of it while the predictive analysis makes predictions about the crop yield. We are using the predictive Analysis to solve some of these issues faced by a Food Distributer.

Research Questions needs to be covered:

Q1: How does predictive analysis help a Distributor to predict crop yield and plan his resources? Q2: What are the potential outcomes of employing Business analytics in food distribution?

Q3: How can crop yields be forecasted?

Q4: What are the possible solutions to the problem facing food Distribution?

Q5: How ML/AI is used to improve the distribution of food?

The dataset was obtained from Kaggle. The collection is based on historic crop production data in India, and it includes several measures and dimensions. There are 246091 rows and 7 columns in this dataset.

Important: After giving the proposal our professor commented to do in the perspective of food producer adding distribution demand. So as a food distributor we have to do the analysis.
